This circuit links four of Uttar Pradesh's most significant pilgrimage cities in a single well-paced journey: Ayodhya, birthplace of Lord Ram; Varanasi, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and Hinduism's holiest riverside city; Prayagraj, site of the Triveni Sangam confluence; and Chitrakoot, where Ram, Lakshman and Sita spent part of their forest exile. Each city gets a genuine day rather than a rushed drive-through stop. Pickup can be arranged from Ayodhya itself, or from Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi or any other city on request — the route is planned around wherever you're starting from.

Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, completed and opened for darshan in January 2024, anchors the start of this circuit, alongside Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan. From there, the route moves to Varanasi for the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the nightly Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, before continuing to Prayagraj for the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati at Triveni Sangam. The circuit closes in Chitrakoot, a quieter forest town associated with Ram's years of exile, centred on the Kamadgiri hill and Ramghat.

Every day includes a private vehicle, a genuine sightseeing block rather than a token stop, and hotel check-in timed so you're not arriving late into an unfamiliar city. Darshan queues at major temples can run long on weekends and festival days; we build buffer time into the itinerary rather than promising a fixed darshan slot no operator can actually guarantee.

October to March offers the most comfortable temperatures for temple visits and the Sangam boat ride, without the summer heat that makes long days of sightseeing genuinely uncomfortable. The Maha Kumbh and Magh Mela periods in Prayagraj bring exceptional crowds and premium hotel pricing; outside those specific dates, this circuit stays pleasantly manageable year-round.

This four-city circuit is easy to get wrong on your own — too little time in any one city, or a driving schedule that leaves you exhausted before the darshan even starts. We've paced this route based on the actual road distances between these specific cities, not a generic template, with hotel stays confirmed close to each city's temple district rather than on the outskirts to save on cost.

Temple darshan timings can shift on festival days without much notice, particularly at Ram Janmabhoomi and Kashi Vishwanath; our on-ground contacts help us plan around known dates like Ram Navami and Maha Shivratri when crowds multiply significantly. Winter mornings in Varanasi and Prayagraj can be foggy enough to delay early boat rides — we build a flexible window rather than a fixed early slot.
